Dajana (née Perić) Douglas was born in Serbia in 1995 and grew up in the Republic Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She completed her Master of Fine Arts studies Magna Cum Laude at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at The George Washington University in Washington D.C. in 2023, where the school presented her with the Outstanding MFA Studio Arts Award Certificate. She earned her B.A. from the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka in her native country in 2020, majoring in Painting. She earned the professional title of an Iconographer at the Iconography School Odigitria in 2016 in Bijeljina, RS, B&H, specializing in Byzantine Painting. Her art practice is based on performance, conceptual art, and experimental painting deeply rooted in religion and cultural contex of her country. Her work has been shown internationally in solo and group shows through Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Austria, and the USA. Dajana is the founder of the Iconography School Saint George in Washington, D.C., where she teaches foundation of drawing, Byzantine Painting and the theology of the icon.
